Software Engineer at Boulder Start up

May 2019 - Aug 2020 • 14 mos

After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder, I accepted a Software Engineer position at the start-up Funeral Innovations (FI). Here I acted as a full stack developer building a web app from the ground up. In addition I performed dev ops duties as well as code testing. I worked with many APIs including Facebook, Google Ads, Stripe, and Twilio to name a few.

New Venture Challenge Finalist (Awarded $11,000)

Mar 2019

For my senior project at the CU Boulder I created a small start up called Nimb.ly. It's purpose was to solve a scheduling and staffing nightmare found in the catering industry. My partner and I entered Nimb.ly into an event called New Venture Challenge (NVC) which is put on by the University of Colorado. The event was preceded by six months of preparation doing interviews with catering business owners, building product demos, and perfecting a pitch for the culminating presentations.

I pitched Nimb.ly to a series of panels of judges and made it to the NVC finals which was hosted at Boulder theater in front of an audience of 1000+. Ultimately we finished 5th out of 130+ start ups, and we were awarded $11,000 total.

Software Engineer Internship

May 2017 - Aug 2017 • 4 mos

Over the span of this internship I designed, developed, and deployed a quiz platform. The quiz platform allows Funeral Innovation's (FI) admin to easily create quizzes using an intuitive web application interface. Admin can then deploy the quizzes to customers' Facebooks and websites. End users can then take the quizzes and the results are saved to a database and sent to customers.

In addition to the quiz platform, I initiated and built a configurable webcrawler which helped solve an issue of repeated code across configurations.
